What Customers Say About Canon Pixma MP520 Photo All-On-One Inkjet Printer (2178B002):

Only one problem so far with the Canon Pixma MP520 printer. Paper jammed and wouldnt budge. Canon cust serv and manual were no help. Yanked off cover on back of printer and out came jammed paper.

I have owned this printer for over a year now. We have printed pictures up to 8x10 inches, and they look really good. We have been able to archive a lot of family photos to the computer, then put them on a DVD slide show, and it has been wonderful for our family. My wife and I are both in school, so it gets a lot of use. I think it saves money and the environment. I have never had to replace the color ink cartridges, and only replaced the black one once so far. I have never had any problems with it. The scanning function is really nice too.

It is great on ink, especially if you use the "fast draft" option. It is all you really need anyway, unless you are printing pictures. I especially love being able to replace each color cartridge individually. I researched a lot prior to buying this, and I am happy with it.I just wish it was wireless.

I used Consumer Reports to research a new Printer Copier Scanner and selected the Canon MP520 which was their "Best Buy". They had me run a diagnostic test, determined that the printer was not functioning correctly and sent me a new Canon MP610. The printer worked great for 5 months then started pulling paper in at a diagonal. I contacted Canon. Canon was exceptional in the ease of contacting them and their replacement of the defective printer. I recommend that you skip purchasing the MP520 in favor of a different model.

This means that any object that has any depth at all, comes out fuzzy. This is a good printer.fast, clear print, quiet. Also, it takes several tries to get the paper you are printing to come out square on the print-out. It has a good many features. Problem: it does not scan in 3D. The machine is tricky in this way.I found that I get miles of print out of the cartridges, although I have read people complaining about this. You CAN buy knock-off cartridges and use them by transferring the tiny circuit tab from an original cartridges (one comes with the printer).

Each person will have their own experience with ink usage, but so far, I have printed out about 5 full page photos, and about 75 pages of black and white text on brand new cartridges. It's fast and makes photocopying a page a real snap. Here's some of the primary advantages:- Excellent print quality with vivid colors. If you think about it this way, 80 pages = $50 in ink, which is close to 63 cents per page.

I can print a full page, high-quality image in about 15 seconds.- The scan quality is excellent for a multifunction printer. I have been using this printer for about six months and I have thoroughly been enjoying it. The printer is now letting me know that nearly all of the cartridges are out of ink and need to be replaced. Sure, let's think of it like this: 5 pages = $50 in new ink cartridges. Just a press of the copy button and you'll have your photocopy in either black/white or even in color, if you wish.- Product advertises that you can do borderless printing.

Depending on where you shop, the best price that I've found for this is around $50 to $75 dollars, including Amazon.com. Wow, those images cost $10 per picture. - The print speed is acceptable. Ouch. However, I have never gotten this feature to work on my new Macbook Pro -- and yes, I followed the installation directions, step-by-step, when setting up my printer.

Not sure if the borderless feature is only for those using "Windows."The Disadvantages:- This Printer is DRUNK on ink. Those black and white pages were quite expensive.I know, some of you are probably thinking, it was those five full color pages that did it. Should of gone to Kinkos.
